Donn Fendler has teamed up with Lynn Plourde and illustrator Ben Bishop to give us a graphic novel take on his experiences on Mount Katahdin back in 1939. For fans of the book Lost on a Mountain in Maine this is an excellent companion. I enjoyed the graphic format and some of the new details including the back story about why they were climbing Katahdin in the first place. I would recommend reading both. The original gives real illustrations and a map of the locations he was believed to have been at each day. I missed those in this version. This version is definitely more accessible for younger readers and honestly, it is written better.
